WORKFORCE
According to a recent
Labor Study, the analysis of the Central Texas Region labor force leads to
several conclusions: the area has a relatively young, skilled, and
educated labor pool; has a tremendous supply of available part-time and shift
labor; and the majority of unemployed will work for under $11 per hour.
The rationale for this conclusion is discussed throughout the study. Click
for a full summary.
The presence of nearby
Fort
Hood
supplies the area will a continual stream of separating and retiring soldiers,
approximately 800 per month. As soldiers are processed out the military
through the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP), job skills are documented.
For information on exiting soldiers’ skills, please contact the Development
Corporation of Belton at cmills@dcbelton.org
